Aimee Canterbury, Camp Director
Aimee Canterbury has taught horseback riding at the camp since 1992. She attended Camp Coleman as a child and progressed through the Wrangler in Training (WIT) program to become an instructor. While attending Auburn University, Aimee studied Animal and Dairy Science and was a member of the AU Equestrian Team.
After college, Aimee worked in the Equestrian Program at Wesleyan College, teaching, coaching, and readying students for show competition. Through the years, Aimee has been responsible for the addition of new equestrian activities, including driving (horse and cart), vaulting, and reining.
Aimee holds Certified Horsemanship Association (CHA) Instructor Certification at Level 4 in both English and Western. She also works as an Assistant Clinic Instructor, training, evaluating, and certifying other horseback instructors at CHA Standard Instructor Certification clinics. In addition, Aimee holds current American Red Cross First Aid, CPR for the Professional Rescuer, Lifeguard, Basic Water Rescue, and Small Craft Safety certifications.
