Bio

Margaret serves Girl Scouts of North-Central Alabama as Vice President for Resource Development which includes annual funding, grants, special events and support of the United Way allocations process. Her experience includes work with the Vestavia Hills City Schools Foundation and Larimer Waldrop & Associates, a woman-owned fund development consulting firm that conducted some of the area’s most successful capital campaigns including the Vulcan Park Foundation campaign that invigorated the park and a recent expansion campaign at the Birmingham Civil Rights Institute. Other notable campaigns include the new horizon’s school building and Heardmont Park in Shelby County and Rathmell Park in Mountain Brook. Margaret’s first fundraising job was with Discovery 2000 on the campaign to build the McWane Science Center.

Margaret is on the Boards of the Birmingham Boys Choir and Pathways and has worked a number of years on the committee for the Association of Philanthropy’s National Philanthropy Day. She has a BA from Furman University and a Master of Public Administration from UAB. Margaret enjoys reading, road races and boating in the summer. She is married with two children in elementary school.
