Amazing, but true! We have the red cockaded woodpecker here in our 600 acres of forest. Join the Birmingham Chapter of the Audubon Society as they help girls learn bird watching techniques and how to count and record birds. They can then take the information learned to their own backyards and participate in the National Backyard Bird Count Program on February 13–15, 2015. Girls will learn about native birds, make a SWAP and make a bird feeder. Enjoy a walk in the forest as you explore the basics of bird watching led by the Audubon Society professionals. Girls will develop a strong sense of self and critical thinking skills.
