Paddle Alabama – Bat Cave and Camping Experience
June 27, 2014 @ 1:30 pm - 5:30 pm
Grade level: Cadettes, Seniors, Ambassadors
Cost: $75 per participant
Registration deadline: June 5, 2014
Enjoy the beautiful surroundings of Honeycomb Campground and Lake Guntersville. This trip includes paddling to secluded coves surrounded with wildlife and a sunset canoe trip to Hambrick (The Bat) Cave where you get to experience 80,000 grey bats as they emerge, right over your head, from their daily slumber, as you sit in comfort of your canoe. You will then return to the campgrounds for dinner and a campfire before bunking down for the night in your tent. No previous canoeing experience is necessary as you will be under the direction and guidance of trained and certified instructors from Alabama Eco Adventures. All necessary canoeing equipment will be provided (canoes, paddles, pfds, etc.). Dinner and breakfast are included. The start and end site of the program will be the same. A select number of free chaperone spaces are available to adults who hold current CPR/First Aid AND Basic Water Rescue certification or Lifeguard certification. Contact Heather Sellers at 256-425-0876 or email@example.com for more information about the free adult spaces.
