In recognition of our 100 years, we are honoring our East and Central Women of Distinction with one combined celebration on March 9, 2012. This award is given to women who have made a special contribution to their community through civic, academic or professional efforts. Women must reside in Blount, Calhoun, Cherokee, Chilton, Clay, Cleburne, Etowah, Jefferson, Randolph, St. Clair, Shelby, Talladega or Walker counties. GSNCA will also present the Milred Bell Johnson Lifetime Achievement Award and the Frances E. Couth Lifetime Achievement Award. Each of these awards honors the memory of a beloved community leader whose contributions had far-reaching impact in their respective communites of Alabama.
